List of ingredients to avoid.

I am very glad to hear that many of you are using this time to improve yourself, your habits and your life in general. As part of my coaching, I help my clients w their grocery shopping and/or plan their shopping choices from home. It’s wonderful that we have so many food options these days, but it can also be dizzying! Many choices are enticing but not necessarily the healthiest.

One of my clients suggested I make a list of ingredients to look out for while doing your grocery shopping. As a sidenote, I love and welcome this kind of feedback! It helps me do my job better and it means that people take what I say to heart! So, please, keep the feedback coming! In any event, I hope you find this post helpful; Let’s keep it Healthy & Easy. The premise here is to look for really natural foods, that don’t contain ingredients you can’t pronounce or understand. Nor will they contain weird colors, e.g. Blue#1, Red #2, etc. The best foods for us contain just a few simple ingredients.

Here’s an important caveat: just because something is “organic” doesn’t necessarily mean it’s great for you. You should still read the ingredients: most precooked or frozen foods, even organic, contain chemical additives. And, while we’re on the subject, even the “best” kind of certain foods, like natural/pure/organic cane sugar, can be bad for you. Sugar is still sugar, which is something to avoid in any form. Here are the bad guys to avoid:
